It's Elementary presents a thoughtfully arranged series of six square panels organized in two balanced rows. Each panel explores a fundamental element of art—space, texture, line, value, shape, and color—through a restrained yet tactile approach. The top row introduces a dialogue between form and surface: a dark, roughly defined shape with a small circular void speaks to spatial relationships; a diagonally divided field contrasts off-white irregular textures with rough tan patterns; and a loose, looping metal wire adds a three-dimensional line that animates the composition. Below, the panels continue this exploration with subtle shifts in tone and form. Horizontal stripes in neutral hues create a quiet play of light and shadow, while a coiled wire rests flat against textured white ground, reinterpreting shape in a minimalist vocabulary. The final panel brings the work’s primary colors into focus, punctuated by a slender black line that anchors the composition’s rhythm. Together, these elements form a cohesive whole defined by simplicity and tactility, inviting viewers to engage closely with the interplay between geometry, texture, and natural color. The piece balances deliberate structure with organic surfaces, encouraging reflection on the foundations of visual language.
