Daughter is an altered book piece constructed from 9 discarded books attached to 3/4" black foam core. All of the books have been folded using the single fold method. The books in this one-of-a-kind sculpture are secured to the foam core from the back with 7" rusted nails and glue; and shorter rusted nail heads are inserted in the tops of the books for decoration. The wooden frame has a rusted metallic appearance with small nail like heads which complements the rusted nails in the books. Daughter is a unique pedestal piece. The only word that is visible in this piece is the word "daughter" which is part of the title of one of the books and can only be seen when looking inside from one of the sides.
