This large painting was inspired by my drone's view of a summer afternoon at the Rio Grande during the pandemic. I hope my work helps you rediscover the poetry and beauty in the everyday. In this piece, I used my signature brush work and expressive application of paint to create the motion and depty of the water surrounding the young woman floating on the river. The thick, gestural paint applied in translucent layers is protected by varnish. While my work is taken from digital video reference from drone capture, it is painted alla prima, directly on the canvas. This piece is ready to hang.
