I began incorporating used teabags in my mixed media work several years ago. Through "The Teabag Project" which I created to encourage interactive art projects, I receive used teabags from people all over the world. "Grecian Summer" was inspired and created while I was an artist in residence in Greece. I used teabags which I opened and removed the tea to create a naturally colored foundation. Then I used a printmaking process to print over the teabags with an oil based ink. The piece is floated under grass with a light wood frame. It is wired and ready for hanging.
