Grounded is a balanced sculptural assemblage combining handmade paper and rustic found objects. At the base, there is a semi-circular wooden block providing sturdy support. On top of this sits a piece of weathered, rectangular wood, which acts as a platform. Positioned on the wooden plank is a smooth, oval stone with a small, slightly recessed center. Surrounding the stone is a circular frame of rusted wire, creating an open ring. A thin metal rod pierces through this frame, adding linear contrast to the curves around it. A white, textured crescent-shaped piece of handmade paper is attached inside the wire ring, curving inward toward the stone. The combination of natural textures—wood, stone, wire, paper —and the geometric interplay of circles, lines, and crescents creates a harmonious, earthy composition emphasizing balance, contrast, and organic form.
