This large painting was inspired by my drone's view of this gentleman walking on the trail near my house in Santa Fe during the pandemic. I hope my work helps you rediscover the poetry and beauty in the everyday. In this piece, I used my signature brush work and expressive application of paint to create the motion of this moment. The thick, gestural paint is protected by a satin varnish. While my work is taken from digital video reference from drone capture, it is painted alla prima, directly on the canvas.
