Artist Barrie Brown's glass landscapes reflect serene and romantic landscapes and seascapes that are full of infused light and atmospheric softness. The unique process Barrie developed creates art pieces filled with multifaceted, layered images and shimmering light. The stand-alone sculpture piece is uniquely framed in hardwood ready for display. “Shadows and Bare Wood” presents a tranquil rural scene, and at its center stands an aged barn with a weathered roof conveying years of exposure to the elements.  A patchwork of green grass and a worn dirt path gently leads the eye toward the barn, where a solitary hay bale adds a tactile element. 
The composition captures a quiet moment suspended between seasons, where the interplay of light and shadow emphasizes both the solidity of the barn and the ephemeral quality of the atmosphere.
