This large contemporary figurative painting was inspired by an afternoon spent on the Rio Grande. The floating figure of artist Warren Keating’s daughter was painted with active brushwork and expressive mark-making in the artist’s signature contemporary impressionist style. Keating was obsessed with the patterns and currents of the surface of the river water in this oil on canvas.
