This painting is one of my favorites. It just came out one day after an inspiring walk in the aspen trees. It says "aspens" but not overtly. Inspired by the paintings of Leon Gaspard. There are beautiful soft, testureless backgrounds behind trees that contrast with bold knife strokes of heavy paint on top. The sky is a pleasing neutral which makes the rest of the painting pop. Metallic shafts of light too. No varnish as i wanted to keep it natural. Finished on all sides.
