This painting is inspired by a couple walking in Paris in the rain as viewed from my hotel balcony on St. Germain. My unique aerial view makes the shapes of the figures more abstract and emphasizes the motion of the figure and texture of the moment. I paint alla prima, wet-in-wet, meaning that the painting must be finished before it begins to dry. This results in direct, immediate mark-making and precise and thorough processing of the painting. It is painting is framed in a black floater frame.
